American Heritage jumped out to a 28-15 first quarter lead on the road at Pine Crest in their district final matchup. Yet, behind class of 2010 star Brandon Knight (38 points), the Panthers stormed back and pulled out a 74-70 win on Saturday night. Kenny Boynton (33 points) led the Patriots who now travel to Pahokee on Thursday in a regional quarterfinal contest. The Perfect Rotation will have more on this game Tuesday plus a feature on Eloy Vargas who played a strong game with 15 rebounds.
Kenny Boynton (24 points), Eloy Vargas (17 points) and Raymond Taylor (14 points) led American Heritage (18-8) to an 80-66 win over North Broward Prep Thursday night in the opening round of district play. Next up, Pine Crest or Coral Springs Charter on Saturday night.
Undefeated East Gadsden (24-0) won 51-48 over American Heritage (17-8) Saturday night at FAMU in Tallahassee in front of 2000 plus spectators. It was a wild game that saw East Gadsden jump out to a 29-15 halftime lead. The Patriots then went on a 22-3 run in the 3rd quarter to take a 37-32 advantage. But the Jaguars hit some clutch free throws late to hang on. Kenny Boynton (23 points) and Raymond Taylor (15 points) topped the scoring chart for Heritage. The Perfect Rotation will have the highlights in webisode thirteen on Tuesday. District playoffs start next week.
A Jordan Katz four point play in the 1st quarter highlighted American Heritage’s 85-47 win over Calvary Christian on Thursday night. Next up for the Patriots (17-7), a road trip to Tallahassee for the final regular season game of the year.
A Kenny Boynton (33 points) dish to Jake Wheeler with 6.7 seconds left broke a 54 all tie and proved to be the difference as American Heritage (15-6) defeated Pompano Beach HS 58-54 on Thursday night. Raymond Taylor and Eloy Vargas sat on the bench for missing Tuesday’s game against Pace HS. They have been suspended indefinitely but remain on the team. The Perfect Rotation will have that story on Tuesday.
The Perfect Rotation was anything but on Tuesday night as Pace HS defeated American Heritage 94-70. Florida Gators signee Ray Shipman (29 points) and Kenny Boynton (44 points) led their teams in the scoring column.
